Hi friends! It’s been a quick minute since I’ve been around and it’s because life lately has been absolute chaos. 2019 is treating us well but it’s been 100% nonstop busy. Here’s what’s new!
We bought a house!
Well, we put in an offer on a house and it was accepted pending the sale of our house. This has been the number 1 reason why life has been 100% stressful/overwhelming/exhausting. Brad and I have been skimming realtor.com and Zillow on and off for the past year. We knew once we got pregnant that we would outgrow our house sooner rather than later but we were going to wait for the house. Two weeks ago, I had just happened to skim Zillow and saw a new listing in the neighborhood we really liked. It had only been on the market for a day and I had been chatting with our realtor friend that day. We both said the same thing about this house- that it was perfect for us. So the following Sunday, we took a look at it and we all knew it was the one for us.
The new house is 400-500 square feet bigger than our current house, has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, a basement, fenced in yard (perfect for the boys), and a sunroom (which I’m stoked about). This house was built in 1992 (the same year both Brad and I were born) and needs a lot of updates which we are so excited for. Brad has always had the desire to fix up a house to flip and I love interior design so this house was the perfect way for us to buy our forever home that we could fix up with our touches.
What I love most about this house, besides the fact it’s a major fixer-upper, is that I can have a designated office, designated guest room, a front porch, and a sun porch. We love to be outside and now we can have actual places to sit rather than lawn chairs in the driveway, which we still might do but now I can have cute outdoor seating areas.
Be prepared for lots of home decor posts in the next few months!
Our sweet boy turned 6 months old on January 25. I cannot believe how fast time is going. Before we know it we will be planning his first birthday. Henry is so much fun right now. He rolls around like a mad man and he’s obsessed with Tucker and Boone. This week he started swim lessons and that was adorable to watch. His class is just a 5 weeks introductory to water class. During our half hour class, we sing songs, do motions, and play in the water.
Some fun facts about Henry. He’s 28 inches long, 21 pounds, sleeps 10-12 hours a night, wears 9-12 months clothes, and is the sweetest boy.
This week I became a brand rep to the cutest shop, Mama in Overalls. Right now, you can shop her Valentine’s Day collection and save 10% by using FRIENDSOFALEXIS at checkout.
There you have it, my life lately. Between playing with Henry, working part-time, and getting our house ready to sell (plus, the multiple showings), life has been crazy but I’m seriously so excited for our next chapter.
