Hi friends! Happy Monday! We are in the final week before Christmas. Are you ready for Christmas? Or are you still doing all of your shopping? Brad and I are done with shopping, except I need to buy one $10 item to finish off a gift. Other than that, we have everything wrapped and ready to go. Speaking of Christmas gifts, I stumbled across a post on alysonhaley.com from last season called Five Gifts I’m Most Thankful For This Year That Weren’t Under The Tree. This post really inspired me to reflect over the past year and find the unconventional gifts I’m most thankful for. I hope today’s post on my three gifts I’m most thankful for this year that weren’t under the tree inspires you to look back on this year and find what you are most thankful for.
Three Gifts I’m Most Thankful For This Year That Weren’t Under The Tree:
I received the gift of the growth of my family //
Wow, 2018 brought the most special gift of all, the growth of my family. This year Brad and I welcomed our sweet son, Henry. Not only has our family grown with a new addition, but Brad and I have grown as individuals and as a couple. It’s truly amazing what God has blessed me with this year. Watching Brad become a dad has truly warmed my heart. He’s the best dad, which I knew he would be, but it’s been so warming to watch him with Henry. Plus, Henry absolutely adores his daddy and I see them bonding more and more as time goes on.
I received the gift of an amazing community-YOU! //
This year I started XO, Alexis after taking a break from my previous blog and wondering if I mattered. Having such an amazing community has made it all worth it. There wouldn’t be an XO, Alexis if it wasn’t for you. You have touched my life and touched my soul and for that, I am truly thankful for you. If it wasn’t for this amazing community, I wouldn’t be writing and sharing my story with you. I only hope that I can bring even more in 2019 and really help you. Speaking of 2019, I’d love for you to complete this anonymous 10 quick questions reader survey. By completing this survey, your answers will help me better understand my readership and make XO, Alexis even better in 2019.
I received the gift of self-discovery //
Becoming a new mom is definitely a challenge. Not only is there a physical toll but there’s a mental toll. Since having Henry, I’ve been on a journey of self-discovery. This discovery is an ongoing battle but I’m thankful that I realized that I needed to focus on myself and discover the new me. I’ll be touching more on my self-discovery journey in 2019 but until then, here’s a glimpse into what I’ve been going through.

I hope all of you have a safe and wonderful Christmas/holiday season. While celebrating all of the holidays, be sure to reflect on the gifts you were given this year outside of what was under your Christmas tree. Hopefully
