Second Trimester Bumpdates

Hi Friends! We are well in our third and final trimester! I can’t believe how quick the second trimester went. Seriously, I thought the first trimester was fast, nope, it was nothing compared to the second trimester. I thought it would be fun to do a quick recap of the last 13 weeks.

Second Trimester Bumpdates //

14 Weeks:

Hello Second Trimester! Only 26 weeks until we get to meet our little jelly bean. Bradly and I decided to not find out the gender and we couldn’t be more excited.

What’s going on with Baby Buxton: Baby Buxton’s immune system is starting to develop. Fur-like lanugo is covering most of his/hers body until his/her baby fat comes in. Baby B is about 3 1/2 inches long.

16 Weeks:

Baby Buxton is the size of a dill pickle and looks so much like a human. I felt our sweet baby move and those were the best butterflies I’ve ever had.

What’s going on with Baby Buxton: This week Baby Buxton will continue kicking up a storm, getting stronger and stronger. He/she is currently about 4 1/2 inches long and weighing about 4 ounces.

18 Weeks:

What’s going on with Baby Buxton: We’re almost halfway already! Where is the time going? This week the baby is the size of a sweet potato and I’m craving all things cinnamon like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and cinnamon waffles.

What’s going on with Baby Buxton: Baby is growing like crazy (about 5.5 inches and 7 ounces). Not only is the baby growing but his/her nervous system and facial features are developing, and he/she is turning it up a notch in terms of movement, kicking and rolling all around (which feels so cool). Next week we get to see Baby Buxton and we can’t wait

20 Weeks:

We’ve officially hit halfway! Baby Buxton is the size of a banana and I’ve been craving nothing but sweets-ice cream, brownies, cake- and the baby has been so active. There’s nothing more magical than feeling the baby kick. Only 20 more weeks until we get to meet you and I cannot wait!

What’s going on with Baby Buxton: Baby Buxton is still practicing breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid. He/she is about 10 inches tall and weighs about 10 1/2 ounces.

22 Weeks:

Only 122 days until we get to meet you Baby B. Mama is feeling large and in charge. I can’t get enough of sweets (mostly cakes) and veggies. Brad has picked out our coming home outfits and our personalized hospital hats have arrived. We are also building Baby B’s shoe collection.

What’s going on with Baby Buxton: Baby B is busy growing, now 12 inches long and a pound (or more). When Baby Bux isn’t sleeping (which at this point is 12-14 hours a day), he/she is trying to touch anything, Whether it’s his face, body and is working on his/her physical abilities and motor skills by practicing movement, and getting a feel for things.

24 Weeks:

After today’s doctor appointment, Baby B is measuring 2 weeks early! I’m getting so eager to meet our baby and now he/she will be here sooner!

What’s going on with Baby Buxton: This week Baby Bux’s lungs are producing the substance that will make them inflate when he/she has to breath on his/her own. Baby B is over a foot tall and continuing to do lots of growing and moving.

26 Weeks:

Baby B is the size of a bowling pin and moving around like an animal, especially at night. The discomfort and lack of sleep is definitely setting in, preparing us for what we have to look for.

What’s going on with Baby Buxton: Baby’s eyes are finally open after months of being closed, so he/she is practicing opening and closing his/her eyes. Baby B continues improve his/her breathing technique.

Do you think we are having a boy or girl?
